Not only do the ERRORs build their robot, but they also build up their community through outreach, encompassing all aspects of FIRST. Every year, team members learn skills involving build, code, CAD as well as graphic design, writing, recruiting. They also help out their community through volunteer work: Feed My Starving Children, recruitment at local middle schools, and donations to hospitals and relief centers.
The ERRORs believe that people are stronger together but that they should strive to provide a home to everyone, a home for STEAM. In the past years, the ERRORs have started up many FLL Jr., FLL, FTC, and FRC teams, ensuring opportunities throughout the county. Even in the present, ERRORs continue to help fellow FIRST members by student mentorship and communication among teams.
By fostering leaders, connecting to others, and sharing their success, the ERRORs have been able to show how they robot, holistically. Students are able to engage in all things robotics, which “is the key to great leadership” (Gerber). Members outreach in order to create a path towards STEAM. And the ERRORs create tournaments for FLL and FRC for everyone to benefit.
